Pictures From Belize City

Here are a few pictures from Belize City I took while we were there with Mandy.. The hospital had a little deli where we decided to eat lunch at. Gracie met a little friend there and they played around the little court yard for about an hour. :)  Also, the boys found is cute little iguana and a turtle. They were really fun to take pictures of!

One of Mandy's doctors

Praise The Lord!

I am so grateful to the Lord for healing my sister's heart! He is so amazing and mighty...

Mandy had not been feeling well for quite a few weeks... We all thought it was a thyroid issue but when the tests came back that her thyroid was fine, we knew that something was wrong. The doctor who was looking at all the symptoms that Mandy had and it not being a thyroid problem, decided that she needed to be admitted to the hospital immediately.  They checked her pulse and her heart was all over the place.. It was going 140 beats per minute then down to 109 then up again to 135..  So, she had to stay overnight in the hospital.  She had ultrasounds, x-rays and blood work. When the doctor looked at the x-ray, he was gravely concerned.  He told Mandy and Mom that Mandy's heart was far too small but scheduled for a second opinion.  When the second doctor looked at the x-ray, he came in crying and said that he too thought it was far too small and that we should expect the worse! Oh, how are hearts were broken! I never even had the thought that I would ever lose Mandy in the near future!  I cried and asked the Lord to spare her life to us if it was His will.  But, if He did want her home, to help me remeber that He knows best and if it was to happen that He would comfort our hearts..

Back home in the states, word spread quickly about Mandy's illness. People where praying across the U.S and Belize.. Friends of friends, whole churches and family... All came together in prayer for Mandy's healing.
The next day, the heart specialist came in to give Mandy an Echo cardiogram..  As he was looking at her heart, he said, "Wow, I haven't seem such a perfectly formed heart in a long time.. It is perfectly normal and fine." Praise the Lord! Mandy was healed because the day before, her heart was too small and now it is fine! How grateful we are to the Lord and friends who prayed.

Please continue to pray as Mandy still is very weak and tired.. She has some king of infection which we do not yet know what is causing it. I will be keeping everyone posted. <3 Ashley

Our New Puppy!

Our family decided that we should have a guard/family dog for the property here..So, my sweet parents chose to get me a Doberman Pinscher puppy for an early birthday present! We just brought her home today and she is going very well so far.  We just need to try and figure out a name for the pup! :)  We hope she will be a very nice addition to the family~

Gracie loves the puppy and says "Oh Ashley, it's just a baby one!"

First Post~ :)

Hello there! I am very excited to start blogging about my everyday life here in Belize.. Wow, we have been here in BZ for an entire month already! The time sure has gone by fast!! :)

Everybody is settling in well. There has been a little bug going through the house the past couple days.. But, that is to be expected since everything here is so very new to our system's!  New food, weather, parasites.. you know.. I am very grateful for our Berkey Water filter though! We have pure water to drink at all times which is very important in the heat!

The people here are so very loving and sweet. They have welcomed us into Belize very warmly. Praise the Lord for fellow believers!  We have  made some very precious friends all around us.

I thank the Lord for bringing us here to this little country... It is so full of life and beauty.  I am very excited to become more acquainted with it and it's amazing people!
